How does coaching work?
Once a request form is received, Christina will contact you by either by email or phone to schedule a 30 minute initial consultation. Initial consultations are free of charge and offer parents an opportunity to get some immediate feedback, find out what they can expect from Christina and to ask any questions they might have before scheduling a coaching session.
While the process is somewhat different for each person, in general, once you decide to work with Christina a session is scheduled. Before your first coaching session you will receive some additional information via email and will be asked to identify two or three primary issues. She may also ask for a brief summery regarding your situation. The initial information allows Christina to maximize the time spent on creating solutions verses going over personal information. Clients within the United States, at your scheduled session time Christina will call you at your contact number for your session. For clients outside the US a contact number will be provided for you to call at the appointed time.
During sessions Christina will help you develop strategies for dealing with the situation immediately, as well as, gain insight and skills to improve circumstances for your children.
Full payment by credit card is required prior to session. Both MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
Is coaching a form of therapy and does it replace
seeing other professionals?
No, coaching is not a form of therapy or a substitute for seeing a professional counselor. While Christina McGhee has a very diverse professional background her coaching services are not designed to deal with therapeutic issues or provide legal advice. If during your session Christina feels you have additional needs, she will recommend appropriate resources to help you address those issues. It is important for parents to understand that coaching sessions are not a “cure all” but rather a means of getting back on track. Sessions are designed to be an interactive process that clarifies issues while helping parents build the skills they need to be the best parent they can be and place their children’s needs first.
Can Christina personally answer my questions by email?
Due to the significant number of emails Christina receives, she is unable to personally answer parent questions. If you would like to submit a question to Christina she regularly post answers to selected parent questions on her blog. To visit Christina's blog click here.
